FE – calculation
A finite elements calculation visualizes tensions and the highest occurring stress at a given load. The resulting deformation and therefore the deflection of the blade tip is also shown. To every fork arm we provide an according FE-calculation free of charge. You receive facts and numbers of your fork as a graphical overview for your implementation of requirements and safety.
The following examples underline the benefit of a FE calculation
FE-calculation 1
FE-calculation number 1 shows a maximum tension of 500.6 N/mm² in the region of the fork kink (maximum bending moment) at twice the nominal load.
The maximum permissible tension is 1,400 N/mm² for Hardox500. This results in a safety factor of 5.6.

FE-calculation 2
FE-calculation number 1 shows a maximum tension of 475 N/mm² in the region of the fork kink (maximum bending moment) at twice the nominal load.
The maximum permissible tension is 1,400 N/mm² for Hardox500. This results in a safety factor of 5.9.

FE-calculation number 3 shows at 2 times the nominal load (5,000 kg) a maximum deflection of the fork tip of 50 mm.
At nominal load (2,500 kg) the deflection only results in 25 mm.

FE-calculation 4
FE-calculation 4 shows at 2 times the nominal load (5,000 kg) a maximum deflection of the fork tip of 39 mm.
At nominal load (2,500) the maximum deflection is only 19 mm.
The reinforced fork spine results in a significantly reduced deflection of the fork (see FE-calculation 3)
