At a given fork blade design, lower bending (deflection) is only achieved by reinforcing the fork’s spine.
In conventinal production methods a steel profile is heated, formed, and finally heat treated. Therefore, the profile sections of blade and spine have to be the same. Only by a production approach where blade and spine are prepared sperately, a slim blade and a bulky spine can be achieved.
Result:
The customer receives an often needed slim fork but with less deflection. The difference is significantly visible in FE calculations.
